Multi-Agent Systems and Fault-Tolerance: State of the Art Elements

چکیده
Multi-agent systems (MAS) represent an effective approach for designing and constructing collaborative applications, designed as set of autonomous entities, named agents, which interact and coordinate. Some example of references on multi-agent systems are: [1], [2] [3]. Although multi-agent systems provide an effective approach for decentralized applications, they still need to better address the area of faulttolerance [4].

متن کاملFault Detection and Isolation of Multi-Agent Systems via Complex Laplacian
This paper studies the problem of fault detection and isolation (FDI) for multi-agent systems (MAS) via complex Laplacian subject to actuator faults. A planar formation of point agents in the plane using simple and linear interaction rules related to complex Laplacian is achieved. The communication network is a directed, and yet connected graph with a fixed topology. The loss of symmetry in the...
متن کاملStability Assessment Metamorphic Approach (SAMA) for Effective Scheduling based on Fault Tolerance in Computational Grid
Grid Computing allows coordinated and controlled resource sharing and problem solving in multi-institutional, dynamic virtual organizations. Moreover, fault tolerance and task scheduling is an important issue for large scale computational grid because of its unreliable nature of grid resources. Commonly exploited techniques to realize fault tolerance is periodic Checkpointing that periodically ...
متن کاملASET: a Multi-Agent Planning Language with Nondeterministic Durative Tasks for BDD-Based Fault Tolerant Planning
In this paper, we introduce a multi-agent planning language called ASynchronous Evolving Tasks (ASET). The main contribution of ASET is a novel explicit representation of temporally extended tasks that may be nondeterministic both with respect to duration and effects. Moreover, ASET explicitly models the environment as a set of uncontrollable agents. We formally define ASET descriptions and the...
متن کاملDistributed multi-agent diagnosis and recovery from sensor failures
This paper presents work extending previous research in sensor fault tolerance, classification, and recovery from a single robot to a heterogeneous team of distributed robots. This approach allows teams of robots to share knowledge about the working environment, sensor and task state, to diagnose failures and also communicate to redistribute tasks in the event that a robot becomes inoperable. O...
